Class Enrollment

The NRP 8th Edition is an educational program designed to introduce the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. The program is offered in two levels:

• NRP Essentials:
  For anyone involved in the care of newborns (Lessons 1–4)

• NRP Advanced:
  For individuals who attend births, manage anticipated resuscitations, or participate in resuscitation beyond positive-pressure ventilation (Lessons 1–11)

Course Format: Instructor-Led Skills/Simulation Session

The NRP Course consists of two required parts:

✅ Part 1 – Online Learning Assessment

You must complete the online portion before attending the in-person session:

• Visit NRP Learning Platform

• Purchase and complete the required Online Learning Assessment (separate cost from in-person session)

• You must complete this within 90 days of your scheduled in-person session

• Bring your completion certificate to the in-person course

✅ Part 2 – In-Person Skills & Simulation Assessment (at Holy Name)

• Attend the instructor-led session at Holy Name Medical Center

• Demonstrate resuscitation skills proficiency:

  • Essentials: Skills from Lessons 2–4

  • Advanced: Skills from Lessons 2–7

• Participate in simulated neonatal resuscitation scenarios under the guidance of certified instructors

📝 Additional Information

• Course materials and completion requirements are determined by the American Academy of Pediatrics

• Successful completion results in NRP Provider status as outlined by the AAP
