Course Overview

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course is intended for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies involving infants and children. This includes professionals in:

• Emergency response

• Emergency medicine

• Intensive and critical care units

Appropriate participants include: Physicians, nurses, paramedics, and other personnel who require a PALS Provider card for employment or licensure.

✅ Upon successful completion of all course components, students will receive a PALS Provider e-card, valid for two years.

📘 Course Content Includes:

• 1- and 2-rescuer CPR for infants and children

• AED use in pediatric scenarios

• Management of respiratory emergencies

• Recognition and treatment of rhythm disturbances

• Use of electrical therapy

• Vascular access techniques

• Systematic Approach to Pediatric Assessment

• Team dynamics and resuscitation team concept

• Case-based discussions on cardiac, respiratory, and shock management

📚 Course Materials

• HNMC Employees: May borrow a manual from the Simulation Center office on 4 West – ISL. A payroll deduction form will be completed upon borrowing and discarded when the book is returned.

• General Public: Course manuals may be picked up prior to the course or will be distributed on the day of training.

Participants may also purchase a manual from an authorized AHA distributor if they prefer to keep a personal copy.

📧 E-Card Certification

Upon successful completion of the skills and written assessments, your PALS Provider e-card will be emailed to the address you provided at registration within two weeks.
