🩺 Course Overview

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers course is intended for healthcare providers who require certification in CPR and emergency cardiovascular care. The curriculum includes:

• Adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer techniques)

• Use of a bag-mask device

• Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction

• Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

This course is appropriate for professionals such as:

• EMS personnel

• Physician assistants

• Physicians and dentists

• Nurses and respiratory therapists

• Lifeguards and other healthcare providers

✅ Two-Year Certification is awarded upon successful course completion.

📚 Course Materials

• HNMC Employees: may borrow a book from the Simulation Center office on 4 West – ISL. A payroll deduction form will be completed at the time of borrowing. The form will be discarded upon return of the book.

• General Public/Non-HNMC Participants: If you paid the general public rate, you may pick up your course manual prior to the class, or you will receive it on the day of the class.
